How to run Alfresco Search Services(solr6) on Windows?

Question

I have only done it on Linux by running this command to create the cores

./solr/bin/solr start -a "-Dcreate.alfresco.defaults=alfresco,archive"

I can start the server successfully on windows with solr.cmd start command. However when I try to create the cores using the command create_core  -d alfresco I will get this error:

ERROR: C:\Alfresco\solr6\solr\server\solr\configsets not found!

Seems I was overthinking. The same command is fine to use for additional parameters

./solr/bin/solr start -a "-Dcreate.alfresco.defaults=alfresco,archive"
