CIFS / SMB - Version ?

Hello,

I'm trying to understand why alfresco is still talking about CIFS when today, we're told that we need to talk about SMBv2 or v3 and not CIFS anymore. Is it because Alfresco is still in an old version of SMB, or just because it is still a common mistake to say CIFS instead of SMB ?

This question will be moot when version 6 is released because CIFS/SMBv1 is being removed entirely. You are advised to use AOS or WebDAV instead, see https://community.alfresco.com/community/ecm/blog/2018/01/03/architecture-changes-for-alfresco-content-services-version-60
