Activiti 5.x to Activiti 7.x - has creating task instance history been removed?

Has creating task instance history in Activiti 7.9.0 been removed?

It seems that when a task is created or when a process currently on a task is terminated
records are written as expected to

ACT_HI_PROCINST
ACT_HI_ACTINST

but no Task history is ever written to
ACT_HI_TASKINST
