There is no default way of enabling this. You'll have to alter the source-code (possibly plug in custom identity-session) to md5 the password before strong. Also alter the login-rest resources to be able to cope with the md5 hashes.

Well, i think, before authorize or create user i manualy make md5 and send it. It's nice, thanks! But open password walking in network.

Well, the password is only free text on network if you use the login-call explicit ally (this contains password as body of the POST). All other methods use BASIC-authentication and therefore the password is not sent through clear-text…

Is it possible not to use the users from table act_id_user, and make them it's virtual, ie, when a user logs means the external system, we are register a virtual Activiti user and dynamic bind to it role and then run the business process? And after step task, we notify users by own logic to signed groups.
