Hour in the created information is not the same the system

When I upload some content, it appears with two more hours than the hour in the system tray.
What configuration would be wrong?

Hello,

The date and time will be coming off your server machine.
Could you check the settings on that machine?

If this is the machine you are talking about, or the machine's time is set correctly and the time is still appearing 2 hours ahead then please let us know and we'll investigate further.

The server and client are running in the same machine.
The machines time is ok, but the contents are set by 2 hours more than the machines time, whatever the time is.

After searching the Debian bug list, and various other places, there are several bugs to do with time zone errors where the system shows the correct time but other applications do not - when you are offset from UTC.
I don't suppose that your time zone is 2 hours offset from UTC, is it?

There also appear to be time zone issues in the MySQL bug lists.

We will look to see if there is anything that we can do about this, or if we are causing this, but as far as I am aware we just use the built in Java time statements.

Well, after set to use UTC, I did realize that the difference between my time zone from UTC is 2 hours. So now, there in London is 15:38 pm, and here is 13:38 pm.
But why the time doesn't appear with my configuration set? Is that a bug?

I want to see the same time between the content/folder right uploaded and the time on the system bar.

One thing you could try is to modify your MySQL connection string in the file 'repository.properties' to be as follows:

Old String: db.url=jdbc:mysql:///${db.name}

New String: db.url=jdbc:mysql:///${db.name}?useTimezone=true

(If you are using Tomcat, this file is found in tomcat\webapps\alfresco\WEB-INF\classes\alfresco)

I am using postgresql. How could it be in repository.properties for that..

Old string: db.url=jdbc

ostgresql://localhost/alfresco

New: db.url=jdbc

ostgresql://localhost/alfresco?useTimezone=true

works?

I did the string mencioned above (for postgre), but the time still 2 hours more.

The time in file in the alf_data/contentstore/ folder is correct, but the time showed in the UI for the file content is 2 hours more.

That flag was for MySQL only…

What is your timezone setting for your PostgreSQL database?
You could try re-setting your time zone settings to LOCAL.

Also, according to the PostgreSQL docs the following is true:

PostgreSQL contains internal tabular information for time zone decoding, since there is no *nix standard system interface to provide access to general, cross-timezone information. The underlying OS is used to provide time zone information for output, however.

I think it is a bug….related with time creation.
I created a folder named Temp, so it was with its time (2 hours ahead, but ok…), then I entered in the folder Temp and created another folder named Temp. In this case the parent folder Temp gets the same time, the two folder are with the same time creation (the last time).
I am using the version 1.2 RC1

I installed another version of postgresql (8.1) because of timezone is not working on my old installation (postgre 7.4).
After postgresql installed, I run the alfresco but it doesn't work.
The alf_data and database was created, but the caches.xml files was not.
It is happen some errors (I deleted the two files cache, alf_data and data_base):

Is there some imcompatibility between postgresql version 7xx and 8xx, related with functions?? what next? what about the caches files?

Hi,

The ehcache.xml file controls the cache sizings, and is not a generated file. You will need to put this file back to get rid of the FileNotFoundExceptions.

But these files were created by other first run of alfresco, why are not now? what about the other function errors?

I found in http://jdbc.postgresql.org/changes.html some points that maybe the reason of the error with the function information_schema._pg_keypositions, follow the piece;

"fix In 8.1 index_max_keys != func_max_args which broke the code for determining index_max_keys and retreiving foreign key information. Use the GUC variable max_index_keys and pg_catalog.generate_series instead of inspecting typlens and using information_schema._pg_keypositions. (jurka)"

I think I'll reinstall the old version of postgresql to confirm this doubt.

No, the time remains 2 hours in UI contents ahead from the computer server time. The timezone in postgresql is ok.

My Alfresco saved time is 1 hr behind the system time on the server. I am running Windows Server 2003 SP2, and using SQL Server database. My timezone setting is GMT -5:00 and I have "auto adjust for daylight savings" checked.

In my System information in Alfresco, it says the following
user.timezone America/Rio_Branco

is this equivalent to GMT -5+DST?
