OpenOffice 2.x, Alfresco 2.1 and javadlx problem

Alf people,

I have Alfresco 2.1 Community installed but can't get OpenOffice to work. However, it does work on our 1.4.3 installations so I think I'm doding something wrong. Maybe someone can spot my mystake?

• Installed OpenOffice 2.0.0 (but I tried with 2.2.1 as well)
• Registered OpenOffice
• Installed Xvfb (not sure if this is needed)
• Modified the start_oo.sh file
• Start Alfresco, OpenOffice starts as wel
• When I try to convert a Word or text file I get the usual errors from Alfresco.

It's strange that the /opt/openoffice.org2.0/program/soffice.bin isn't started (as on the other servers), instead there is the /opt/openoffice.org2.0/program/javaldx?! What is this javaldx thing and why isn't it running on my other Alfresco servers? I think I need the soffice and soffice.bin but why isn't this last one triggered? Don't get it…

Running Alfresco 2.1 Community on RHEL 4 (server, so no GUI).

Running OpenOffice processes:

Solved  my own problem, something with the 64 bit probably.

For future reference:

Rename the javaldx file in your OpenOffice folder to something else so that soffce doesn't start this file.

/opt/openoffice2.x/program/javaldx‍

Once you've done this you should see the soffice.bin starting and not the javaldx one.
