After looking through forum postings for an answer to this question I decided to write this post as many got close but not close enough.

In short I would like to modify the Collaborator role to have the permission to Delete content created by other users.

Question - How would I do this and where would I do it?

THANKS!

Not sure if this will work, but according to the "Alfresco" book (applies to 1.4 I believe), you can edit the file tomcat/webapps/alfresco/WEB-INF/classes/alfresco/model/permissionDefinitions.xml.  The sample given in the book is:

<permissionGroup name="TestRole" allowFullControl="false" expose="true">
  <includePermissionGroup permissionGroup="Read" type="sys:base"/>
  <includePermissionGroup permissionGroup="AddChildren" type="sys:base"/>
</permissionGroup>

I would assume that you just need to add the appropriate permissionGroups for your desired setting (I believe they are all "defined" in the xml file).
