Cleanup of the deleted contents

Hi,
I'm playing with a Virtual machine alfresco 1.2 and I'm near to the file system full condition: I need to do cleanup.
There is no "managed deleted items" options on that release: can I remove the object into alf_data/contestore.deleted directly from file system?
