[size=150]Can anyone direct me to some up-to-date installation docs for the windows installation of Alfresco 2.0 Community Edition using the AlfrescoCommunity-2.0-Setup.exe file?

Most of the installation or getting started docs I've found seem to be for pre-2.0 versions of Alfresco and involve a sequence of separate installations, e.g. TomCat or JBoss first, a database installation, etc. and then finally ALfresco itself.

I'm hoping the new AlfrescoCommunity-2.0-Setup.exe installation file is completely self-contained, but I'm beginning to have my doubts.

Lastly, can anyone point me to where Alfresco's default web addresses are defined defined so that I can avoid possible clashes with http addresses of other servers on the same windows machine on which I intend to install Alfresco 2.0 Community Edition.?

Bump. I'm in the same boat, looking for a little guidance to find the fastest path to an Alfresco installation.

I'm a .NET developer. I was In Progress on a customized CMS when I learned other portions of my company are integrating Alfresco. I need to catch up, quickly get an Alfresco instance running on a Windows machine, and evaluate it against our requirements.

What are the minimum downloads I need to make this happen? Thank you.

[size=150]After a little trial and error, I learned the default address for Apache is:

http://your-server-IP:8080

while the Alfresco Portal Start Page is:

http://your-server-IP:8080/alfresco/

As I couldn't find a way to change the 8080 default port which Alfresco takes, I had to bump my PLONE/ZOPE instances which used 80 and 8080 respectively to use HTTP ports 81 and 8081 to avoid clashing with TomCat and Alfresco.

This should get you started, however be sure to keep in mind that you have to start the Alfresco-Tomcat Server MANUALLY.

I'm now trying to learn how to get the TOMCAT-ALFRESCO combo to start automatically or to somehow re-install them as a Windows Service.[/size]

Alfresco does not use Apache, it uses Tomcat.
Search the Tomcat docs for how to configure the port from the default of 8080 (it's in the file called 'server.xml').
