Updating presentation layer templates

Hey,
Say I generate a bunch of web content using a webform that creates an xml file and a html file (using freemarker). How would I alter the freemarker template and update all the html files that have already been created and associated with the web content. This seems like it would be a very critical piece of functionality for WCM.
