Two problems about the index.

1. When i add a text file sometimes i find three new folders in the folder "lucene-indexes\workspace\SpacesStore"
but sometimes i could find only one or two new folders in the folder "lucene-indexes\workspace\SpacesStore" . Why?

2. After i create a text file i find two new folders in the folder "lucene-indexes\workspace\SpacesStore" ,
when i use a tool to see the index contents i find the contents of the text file exist in these two new
folders. Why?

Which version are you using?

Folders are created per transaction. They are merged and cleared up as required. This process is different in 1.3 and 1.4. With 1.4 and after Luke will not work to view the index as a whole.

I installed Alfresco 1.4 preview on windows xp sp2.
I want to know how the folders are merged and cleared up?
