Publish my own web site built from scratch to wcmqs web apps

For a better understanding to the certification path I am trying to build my own web site, following the finance sample web site, with the intention to be published trough wcmqs web app.

I have two folders:

Authoring
–> http

and an empty Publishing folder.

I set both to web site type. While the http is set to web root.
Then filled Authoring properties with:

Host Name: localhost
Host Port: 8080
Web App Context: wcmqs
Site Configuration: isEditorial=true
Publish target: Publishing

While on Publishing:

Host Name: localhost
Host Port: 8080
Web App Context: wcmqs
Publish target: (none as in web quick start sample)

I created an index.html in 'http' folder and started and approved a web quick start structure workflow on it.

However, I am not seeing anything on Publishing folder, and nothing on wqcms web apps, which is telling me that a root has not been defined.
Inspecting the wqcms folder on file system, shows the default structure, so it seems nothing has been transfered.

What am I missing ?

I have partially solved the problem. There was an error in the publishing folder properties.
Basically I changed the Host Name to reflect the way I access the live web site.

Host Name: myserver.com <—
Host Port: 8080
Web App Context: wcmqs
Publish target: (none as in web quick start sample)

However, I am still facing the problem of content not being transferred from Authoring to Publishing after an approved workflow, resulting in Publishing to be empty, and therefore I am getting the error:

A problem has occurred.
This page could not be rendered:
404page
Please notify your system administrator.

I have already checked the webquickstart.log and alfresco.log and there's no relevant error in it.

I have solved the problem, please feel free to point out any incongruence of errors you may find in my explanation below.

Cause:
When you create a web site root, any subsequent folder created in it, have a precise structure, with an index page of a type unknown to me and a collection folder.
By creating a folder and assigning later type_ws.webroot, and then manually creating an index.html, such html page was of a type I presume article (how can I inspect node type from share ?), but for sure of a type different from the one created automatically.
Starting a structure workflow from such index.html caused the content to not be transferred.

Solution:
I solved the problem by creating a folder xyz inside the web root, then copying the generated index.html from xyz to root, and then start a workflow from this index.html.
After approving the workflow, the content got transferred, and the wcmqs got its web site.
