How to get te content of the alf_data file to be store on another drive on Red Hat Linux

We are running Alfresco on a Red Hat Linux Server and needs to know how to go about (what file to configure and how to configure it) to change the path so that the alf_data content can be redirected to a another drive.
Can anyone help me with this please.

We are using Centos 6.4 and have mounted a directory in the linux server to point to our NAS. All you have to do is in [alfresco install]/tomcat/shared/classes/alfresco-global.properties file.

Your dir.root is where you will point to the new path.

Now in order for it to work I had to stop alfresco create a backup of alfresco. THIS is the method I used to backup and restore.

Then you just move that dir.root to the location you want. Start alfresco and you should be on your way.
