Is Alfresco too much ?

ebuild

Hi,
I'm looking for a file sharing solution to be deployed on-premise. I came over many products like Owncloud, Pydio and others, all share same features and most of them are developed with PHP which is not my preferred language.

What I want to know, if Alfresco could be a file sharing solution, does it have the common features that are present in the other alternatives, or simply Alfresco is not meant to be that kind of solution ?

I don't use Owncloud or Pydio, but Alfresco is commonly used for teams in organizations to share files.

Choosing your solution based on (one of) the language used for programming is a very bad idea. You have to analyze the features you want, like AD integration, number of files added every day, cloud or not, preview, emails, etc. A long journey in all cases …
