Issue Tracking with Share

I am trying to develop an issue tracking system for several accounts and I keep hitting road blocks.

If I use Alfresco Share with the Data Lists issue tracking conponent
- search does not seem to find issues
- Assigned issues do not consolidate into the dashboard like MyTasks

If I use Tasks or workflows
- they do not seem to be part of the search process

I have 2 people that need to service 20 distinct external accounts.  At first I thought I could create 20 sites and then have the 2 engineers work off their dashboard a list of issues that resided inside anyone of the sites.  But at this point it seems you need to enter each site to see issues.

Has anyone dealt with a similar setup.  Do I need to write some custome scripts? Or am I missing something?

I don't think there is a way to address this out-of-the-box, but someone else jump in here if they see a solution.

You can find data lists and data list items in a search. For example, suppose you are using the out-of-the-box Issues data list. You can find Issues data list items using this search:

TYPE:"{http://www.alfresco.org/model/datalist/1.0}issue"

That will return all Issues data list items across the entire repository. So, they are indexed.

The second problem you point out is the lack of a way to aggregate issues into a global dashlet.

It would be relatively straightforward to write a dashlet that would execute the above Lucene search and then filter issues on the assign to property using the currently logged-in user. The brute force way would be just that: do the above query then iterate over the search results throwing away the ones not assigned to the current user. The more efficient way would be to do a join using a CMIS query, but I don't have that syntax handy.
