Can you remove a Dashlet from the system that some users have on there dashboard ?

Removing it from the system is simple, but if users have it on there dashboard what occurs ?
Do I need to also build scripts to remove it from there dashboards ?

Yes by deleting them from ${tomcat_home}/webapps/share/webapps/share/WEB-INF/classes/alfresco/site-webscripts/org/alfresco/components/dashlets and refreshing share webscript.

Some error log appears in user dashboard that contain the removed dashlet

Yes you can see how in customize-dashboard webscript. You can find it in ${tomcat_home}/webapps/share/webapps/share/WEB-INF/classes/alfresco/site-webscripts/org/alfresco/components/dashboard
