Hi all!
I build a custom Dialog that shows you a list of groups in a h:selectOneMenu. The problem is that I don't know why the selected value is always null in the bean, although I put the get and the set method in the bean.
The list is showing the values correctly.
the code in the jsp

<h:selectOneMenu  value="#{DialogManager.bean.groupName}">
<f:selectItems value="#{DialogManager.bean.groups}" />
</h:selectOneMenu>
‍‍‍‍‍

and in the CustomAddUsersDialog I have

protected String groupName;
 public void setGroupName(String groupName){
         this.groupName=groupName;
      }
      public String getGroupName(){
         return groupName;
      }
‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍

Why the select value in the selectOneMenu is not in the groupName of the Bean???
Kind regards,
Ana

Not sure if it will work, but try using "private" instead of "protected".
