Funny error please help

We managed to shut down the samba server on which alfresco share 3.4a is installed. When we started the server , now we can not log into share .

On filling the username and password we get the following error.

"the remote server may be unavailable or your authentication details have not been identified"

What could be the error ? It was working fine before samba server shut down.

It usually means there's a problem with the /alfresco webapp - check the alfresco.log file or app server (Tomcat?) console.

Problem got sovled when we deleted the catalina.pid and then restarted alfresco.
