Norton AntiVirus deletes Alfresco Enterprise 3.4 Trial

Hi everyone,

I just thought I would let everyone know that the latest version of Norton Antivirus just deleted my Alfresco Enterprise 3.4 trial download (64-bit Windows.) Here is the threat information reported by NAV:

(WS.Reputation.1) from: alfresco.com
Fewer than 5 users in the Norton Community have used this file.
This file risk is medium.
Threat type: Insight Network Threat. There are many indications that this file is untrustworthy and therefore not safe.

Anyway, I don't think there's anything wrong on Alfresco's side – NAV is just trigger-happy. I have submitted a dispute with Norton, so hopefully I'll be able to download it another time.

I just heard back from Synamtec and they have removed this detection from their product. Here is their response:

The Symantec Insight Dispute team has reviewed your recent submission to the Insight Dispute Submission form Webpage form "Alfresco Enterprise 3.4 (64-bit Windows)." In light of further investigation and analysis Symantec is happy to remove this detection from within its products. Please ensure that your machine reflects the change by running LiveUpdate.
