Problem wiht Windows Installation

Hello everybody,

I have installed the windows community version of Alfresco with the .exe file. But when i launch the alfresco application with ie or firefox, i have this tomcat error message : "Status - HTTP 404 Alfresco, Alfresco is not accessible".

What can i do ?

There seems to be two problems here, one is config file content related and the other database related.

The database problem is down to a connection issue to MySQL. Can you connect to MySQL from the command line using the alfresco/alfresco user/password? Is there an alfresco database? Does it contain any tables?

The config related error was a failure to parse a config file with an error about an invalid UTF8 byte sequence. Have you edited the config files at all? If so, what did you add?

I haven't edited the config files.

I can't connect to mysql from the command line using the alfresco/alfresco user/password. So i make the changes and now i can connect with this username and password.

But the mysql service does not start when i try to do it manually i have an error "the service was stopped".

1) Install Alfresco, Start it, Stop it and add the french language
