PDF vs 1.5 cause crash jvm

When a pdf document vs 1.5 is uploaded in a share site, it cause a jvm crash.
after diagnose there is an error in PDFParseException com.sun.pdfview.PDFParseException: Expected 'xref' at start of table, the pdf 1.5 format is not supported by PDFRenderer-2009-07-27.jar wich is packaged with 3.3, 3.4 and 4.0 version.

If we remplace this jar with latest version from http://java.net/projects/pdf-renderer (the 0-9 version), thumnails and preview are generated and the jvm don't crash.

Tested with 3.4e labs, and 4.0 labs version.
there is no sideboard effects…

Successfully validated against Alfresco Enterprise v3.4.7 (build 523) Tomcat, PostgreSQL, Java 6 (all installer deployed) Client: WinXP SP3 x32, FF8.
I've checked all PDF files provided in ALF-10764, ALF-9417, ALF-9722, ALF-6778, ALF-9697.
