regarding Ingres-Alfresco bundle

Has anyone installed the Ingres-Alfresco bundle from http://esd.ingres.com/product/Community_Projects/Ingres_Alfresco_Bundle/Appliances?
Ingres-Alfresco-3.0.0stable-8-linux-installer.tgz

I've trying to install Alfresco using this instructions (http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/Installing_Labs_3_on_Linux_with_command_line_interface#Change_HSQL_Database_to_MySQL_Database ) but I am not having any luck. I was wondering if anyone has successfully installed the above package and give me some advise.

I posted my problem in installing here if you are interested but no one has responded yet.

OK.

I finally managed to install this bundle. Now I have a different problem. I can't view the files on 'share'… I get a Web Script Status 500 - Internal Error

Like I said, I installed Ingres-Alfresco-3.0.0stable-8-linux-installer.tgz and it seems to be working now.

I need to integrate it with Outlook 2007 but don't know where to begin.

Do you know how I can achieve this?

I have installed the office plugin to use word, Excel and Powerpoint (for 2003 and also 2007, they work). You can find this addons here : http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/Community_Edition_file_list

I have installed also the connector functionality for Microsoft SharePoint Protocol support (vti-module), but not on this bundle, but I think that there is no problem to use it. (to try to use the collaboration on a document)

You can do the same than other installation under Windows/MySql or Linux/otherDb with your bundle.

I have nothing done with Outlook 2007… but if your question is specific about it, your could better create another post with this subject…

How well does it work?

I am assuming that you installed the following plugins

Right now(without the plugins) I can view it in word by going to:

Alfresco Share >> Document Library >> Documents >> Download >> and view with native application.

Yes I have used the mmt to install vti-module.amp. Just go to the base folder of Alfresco, and use : apply_amps.sh (If you don't have with the Bundle, you can get it download a linux alfresco. Copy it. this script need also the bin/alfresco-mmt.jar). Sometimes it doesn't works for updating modules, but you can use the command (look in the script) and don't forget to remove the tomcat/webapps/alfresco.

You can just install alfresco-community-office2003-addins-3.2.zip Add-in for Microsoft Office 2003 if you want to use the three (Excel, Powerpoint and Word).
Becare that the link if for 3.2

I can't yet in my installation use the online edit for office document… but the are some help about it : http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/Main_Page (look at the right for help) it is about 3.2. Perhaps searching on the wiki will help you to find about 3.0.

I can't find the apply_amps.sh file anywhere…I don't think its included in the bundle.

I guess had I installed the non-bundle alfresco I wouldn't be so confused. Every time I google something about Alfresco…i see references to 'tomcat' or 'alfresco.
The bundle does not have 'tomcat' but 'apache-tomcat'.

When I looked at the bundle directories I find these directories:
apache-tomcat/ apps/ common/ img/ ingres/ java/ openoffice/ scripts/ Xvfb/

And under those directories these files are shown:

So when you say "Copy it. this script need also the bin/alfresco-mmt.jar" I am assuming you are referring to the apache-tomcat/bin in my case. Correct?
Sorry I have not worked with .jar files that much.

Any addition knowledge you can share in installing other Alfresco components would be greatly appreciated. I am sure once I manage to install one, everything will start to make sense.

Hello Ceci,

I will help you to add a module inside alfresco. I don't know if it's necessary to add vti for what you want (I let you check it).

You could find the apply.sh with a no bundle alfreco. This script will put the modules in the directories "amps" inside your "alfresco.war". This script is like this :

If you want to add some modules inside your alfresco.war, you need to use the command which executes the alfresco-mmt-jar. Alfresco is in the directory (adapt if it is not like this in your install)

1) Take inside a non-bundle the alfresco-mmt.jar and copy it in /. Copy also the module that you want to add
2) Stop Alfresco and use this command to add your module

cd /
java -jar alfresco-mmt.jar install THE_MODULE_YOU_WANT /apache-tomcat/webapps/alfresco.war -verbose

3) Remove the directory apache-tomcat/webapps/alfresco. It will be recreate at the startup of alfresco (from the alfresco.war).
4) Start Alfresco

All is good ?
