Installation problem on Debian Lenny

Hello,

I'm installing a new 3.2 on a Debian Lenny XEN's Dom-u. Installation from binary file in a console ( no GUI are available ).

http://ip:8080/share is running but I'm not able to log in
http://ip:8080/alfresco returns a Tomcat error ( Ressource not available )
http://ip:8080/explorer returns a white page

I've updated /opt/Alfresco/tomcat/shared/classes/alfresco-global.properties to match datase setting, stoped Alfrescot and started it again without change.

How can I debug that ?

Firstly, /explorer doesn't exist. The Explorer web client is at /alfresco

Secondly, please post your alfresco.log file which will help indicate where the issue lies.

Whoops - you're quite right. I'm amazed nobody has spotted that before! I've told the documentation team.

Caused by: com.mysql.jdbc.exceptions.jdbc4.MySQLSyntaxErrorException: Unknown database 'alfresco'‍

Looks like the install script didn't run correctly for some reason. That can happen if either MySQL wasn't running at the time, or there was a typo in the password, etc. The installer should have said there was a problem though - maybe that part's not working quite right.

To fix it, shut down the Tomcat server, then go into mysql and run the following:

create database alfresco;
grant all on alfresco.* to 'alfresco'@'localhost' identified by 'alfresco' with grant option;
grant all on alfresco.* to 'alfresco'@'localhost.localdomain' identified by 'alfresco' with grant option;‍‍‍

That should say that the alfresco.war did start successfully. Two things to check
* disable WCM
* Firewall settings ?

What does the catalina.out say about startup ?
