padmalaya

Hi,

We are using Alfresco 3.3g community setup.
Can anybody summarise all the steps involved in deploying a particular site in ones web project.
We have followed the steps given in http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/WCM_Deployment_Engine.
However, The site is not getting published.
Please Help.

Thanks in advance.

So what are you trying to do?

What have you done?

And what is happening?

Hii

We have installed alfresco 3.3 standalone deployment receiver then followed the steps below":
1> started alfresco web server and alfresco virtual server and deployment server.
2> Configured the web deployment server details as
i)Transport Name: default
Host: 172.18.224.234
Port: 44100
URL:
Type: Live Server
Username: admin

and kept the rest fields as blank.
3> Clicked on preview website.

Howevr it shows a network error.
"server not found".

X
Network Access Message: The page cannot be displayed

Explanation: The Web server refused the connection.

Try the following:
Refresh page: Search for the page again by clicking the Refresh button. The timeout could have occurred due to Internet congestion.
Check spelling: Check that the Web page address is spelled correctly. The address may have been mistyped.
Access from a link: If there is a link to the page you are looking for, try accessing the page from that link.
Contact website: You may want to contact the website administrator to make sure the Web page still exists. You can do this by using the e-mail address or phone number listed on the website home page.
If you are still not able to view the requested page, try contacting your administrator or Helpdesk.

Is the Standalone Deployment Server listening on 172.18.224.234?

Do you see a line similar to the following in your deployment.log file?
10:25:55,265 INFO [org.springframework.remoting.rmi.RmiServiceExporter] Binding service 'deployment' to RMI registry: RegistryImpl[UnicastServerRef [liveRef: [endpoint:[172.18.224.234:44100](local),objID:[0:0:0, 0]]]]

What platform are you running on? You may have a firewall preventing the connection.

However deployment is successful in the server.
How to disable the firewall if at all it is preventing the connection.

Pls suggest how to deal with the above issue.
