Fails to login!

I had this problem on an older Ubuntu Server, so I did a fresh install and installed Alfresco 3.3a x64.

The problem is that when I go to the login page, I get:

The remote server may be unavailable or your authentication details have not been recognized.

If I go to /alfresco I get:

The requested resource () is not available.

I have looked through the Tomcat logs and have found:

SEVERE: Error listenerStart

The way I installed this was using the latest installer from dev.alfresco.com. Installation was painless. I installed the latest JDK from sun and set the $JAVA_HOME from the bash:

(in bash.bashrc)
JAVA_HOME="/usr/java/jdk1.6.0_21"

export JAVA_HOME

I have spent entirely too much time trying to get this installed. Help?

Can you post your alfresco.log?

There's bound to be a reason for the SEVERE Error.
