Upload via Share doesn't work with Firefox

oblivian

Hi,

I just set up a new Alfresco installment, and everything works great except I can't upload via /share using Firefox. It works with Internet Explorer 8.
I have set up an Apache2 as frontend, using proxy_ajp and running it over SSL. Everything works incl. webdav, except the upload with FF that is. When accessing via 8080 I can use FF to upload….

I have another installment using mod_jk (localhost) and this configuration has no problem with FF.
Have anyone else experienced problems with this?

Please advice,

Thanks.

It's an Adobe Flash bug. Please see http://forums.alfresco.com/en/viewtopic.php?p=63437#p63437 and https://issues.alfresco.com/jira/browse/ETHREEOH-884

Thanks,
Mike

Yes, I can confirm that after following the instructions in the bug report, upload now also works with Firefox.

For other interested, to make Firefox on Windows work with Share Upload over SSL, you first have to use Internet Explorer, add the site to Trusted Sites and download the certificate. After you have done that Firefox also works with Share upload. This is because Flash use the security settings from IE, not FF.

PS. What puzzles me a bit is why it works over SSL using proxy_jk, but not proxy_ajk.

On Linux (Ubuntu 9.10) the above solution doesn't work. However, the installation using proxy_jk works over SSL, the installation using proxy_ajk over SSL does not.

I found a way to force single file upload only if the protocol is https , I described it there : http://forums.alfresco.com/en/viewtopic.php?f=47&t=25192&p=81960#p81960
