Hi,
I am using document management for content. I need to publish this content to a different webserver through a workflow so that it could be shown on a website.
So, how to publish the content from the document space to a remote file system?
Can anyone let me know how to do this…

You can use Alfresco WCM. It includes out of the box functionality to deploy content to remote file system. See http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/WCM_Deployment_Features_31.

You can either automate the copying of content from DM to WCM and publishing. It might be possible to just write the whole thing in javascript. See http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/3.2_JavaScript_API#WCM_Web_Projects for more details on the Javascript API.
