LDAP Configuration - Alfresco V3.2 - Login failed [SOLVED]

Hello all,

I'm quite new at the Alfresco system.

first of all im using: Alfresco 3.2 CE with Microsoft windows server 2003 r2.
i tried to configure ldap on the alfresco but with no success.
i've read:

ive been told not to touch this directory at all: e:\Alfresco\tomcat\webapps\share\WEB-INF
with all the configuration files inside…

so i tried to do the following:
1. I've changed the file: e:\Alfresco\tomcat\shared\classes\alfresco-global.properties

2. ive changed back the file alfresco-global.properties to its original state and did the following:
   a. Updated the file: c:\Alfresco\tomcat\shared\classes\alfresco-global.properties to contain:
           authentication.chain=alfrescoNtlm1:alfrescoNtlm,ldap1:ldap
   b. ive copied the file: ldap-authentication.properties from: E:\Alfresco\tomcat\webapps\alfresco\WEB-INF\classes\alfresco\subsystems\Authentication\ldap\ldap-authentication.properties
      to: E:\Alfresco\tomcat\shared\classes\alfresco\extension\subsystems\Authentication\ldap\ldap1\
      and ive put the following arguments inside:

ive also tried to change the parameter usernameformat=%s to:

but still the same error…

Im actually spent 2 full days to make it work, ive read tons of articles in the internet and wiki's but with no success…

can someone please help me?

I think the confusing error you have pasted in above is actually being caused by web studio attempting to establish a connection using the default admin user credentials on startup. There is a known issue with studio.war in 3.2 CE and it should be removed. Please remove $TOMCAT_HOME/webapps/studio.war and $TOMCAT_HOME/webapps/studio.

Now let's try to get to the bottom of your other problems.

Please add the following to log4j.properties (this time we'll let you edit directly under WEB-INF!)

log4j.logger.org.alfresco.repo.security.authentication=debug

And please let us know what you see in the log files after attempting to log in with your original set up in 1).

i did what you've asked and here is the result.
1. after changing the log file to debug and restarting the server, i could see the ldap sync was working with some sync errors.
2. ive tried to login with my domain user with just "ofer" as username.

It looks like the synchronization side is working (note how it remembers the last modification date of the last synced user and group).

But it looks like your authentication configuration still isn't right.

Using a simple LDAP browser, such as the one from http://ldapbrowser.com

Can you connect to

ldap://my-server:389

as

ofer@mycompany.com

?

If so, then you need

ldap.authentication.userNameFormat=%s@company.com

Ive changed the ldap.authentication.userNameFormat=%s to ldap.authentication.userNameFormat=%s@mycompany.com
and it's works like a charm using my regular username: "ofer".

I am experiencing the same error as described above. However, I am also using V3.2R2 but I do not see the studio.war file or studio directory, I only see a Share.war and Share directory, so what else could be the issue in receiving this error?
