CIFS login unstable

I'm running 3.2r community edition and experience strange login behavior on the CIFS interface; sometimes the user simply cannot login, but the username / password box keeps popping up. But not on all computers; some computers the CIFS connection works just fine. On all computer I can do a WebDav connection using the same user and password.

The Tomcat server runs as a service unber the domain administrator on a server which is not the domain controller. I'm not using passthrou to the domain for authentication.

I'm quite at a loss ATM.

I still have no clue what my cause this (in fact I'm not getting any replies on any of my posted… are there even people using this forum?).

As a workaround I switched to using WebDav instead. It's not the same, but it works well enough. Binding a WebDav drive under Windows is not as easy as a CIFS, but there are free tools (a.o. Novel WebDrive) that make it easy.
