this.hasRequiredFlashPlayer = Alfresco.util.hasRequiredFlashPlayer(9, 0, 45)
this.hasRequiredFlashPlayer = false
The code auto-detect whether you have Flash installed or not.The only way to disable the Flash uploader without uninstalling Flash would be to edit file-upload.js and look for:this.hasRequiredFlashPlayer = Alfresco.util.hasRequiredFlashPlayer(9, 0, 45)and change it to:this.hasRequiredFlashPlayer = falseThanks,Mike

Any thoughts?

Any luck with get it stabilized? I'm supposed to evaluate Alfresco, but Firefox 3 is our standard browser. So this could pose a problem.

I'm not sure what to suggest. We're using Firefox 3.0.7 here on both Windows and OS X and not seeing this issue…Mike
I am using firefox 3.0.8 and opensuse 11.1. The issue is present in this environment
this.hasRequiredFlashPlayer = Alfresco.util.hasRequiredFlashPlayer(9, 0, 45) && navigator.userAgent.indexOf ("Firefox") == -1;
this.hasRequiredFlashPlayer = Alfresco.util.hasRequiredFlashPlayer(9, 0, 45) && (YAHOO.env.ua.gecko > 0);
Interesting, but better to use YUI's browser detection instead:this.hasRequiredFlashPlayer = Alfresco.util.hasRequiredFlashPlayer(9, 0, 45) && (YAHOO.env.ua.gecko > 0);Thanks,Mike
We're using 3.1E on Ubuntu 8.10 Server with Firefox 3 on Windows/Mac/Ubuntu clients and IE on the same clients and various flavours of Flash player from 9.0.45 up to latest 10.x release
No joy…and most annoying. Plus the javascript files changed between 3.0.1 and 3.1 so that the change we made to disable the flash uploaded and use only HTML as discussed on the forums were no longer viable
// Show the help label for single uploads Dom.removeClass(this.widgets.singleUploadTip, "hidden"); Dom.addClass(this.widgets.singleUpdateTip, "hidden");
// Show the help label for single uploads Dom.addClass(this.widgets.singleUploadTip, "hidden"); Dom.addClass(this.widgets.singleUpdateTip, "hidden");
Also: there are reports that resizing the browser slightly whilst the upload dialog is visible can make the button appear - please test that too.
Just to say we're seeing no problems at all with this on Safari 4 - in fact, I've been using it as my preferred test environment since it's release.
