Problem after installation

Hi,

I have the following question:

After installing and starting Alfresco, I upload documents to a workspace. If I use the search function entering any keyword contained in the description of the document or inside the document itself, I do not get a result. If I put in the filename I get a result.

Is this normal ?

I thought the documents are full text indexed !

what is your document format, could you please give more info about it…..
as if it is images, or flash movie type with text embedded on it, you won't
get it in the results

I created two work spaces, uploaded one word-document and one pdf-file into the other one.
I entered descriptions for both.

When entering any keyword that is contained in the description or inside the files, it does not give any result.

I reinstalled Alfresco, but this time with MySQL. Full indexing seems to work now. Maybe there is a problem with the derby db ?

which version of Alfresco did you install ?

The current Full Release (which is 3c i guess).
