Support for German in Labs 3 final version

bnice

Hi,

I used the German language pack in version 2.9B, now we have moved to version 3.0.
Can I use the same old language pack for that version? And how can I modify the language pack as there are some improper translations, e.g. "Inherit Parent Space Permissions" -> "geerbte Eltern Arbeitsbereich Erlaubniss", which is more confusing than the english version?

You should be able to use the old language pack.

Here's the project to contribute your changes. http://forge.alfresco.com/projects/german/

Great, just noticed that there's a new release for version 3.0 - I installed it, and it looks good.
Modified some things for corporate look, but generally it's a good translation.

Have you followed the readme installation instructions?

Because i tried to install german language pack for share, but it didn't work…

Yes, I followed the instructions in the readme - but they were a little confusing.
I believe you copied to the wrong directories.

You have to:

- extract the file (I did it on my workstation, not on the server)

- copy the folder site-webscripts to …/tomcat/shared/classes/alfresco/web-extension/, so that you get this structure:
/tomcat/shared/classes/alfresco/web-extension/site-webscripts/org/alfresco/…

- copy the folder webscripts to …/tomcat/shared/classes/alfresco/web-extension, so that you get this structure:
/tomcat/shared/classes/alfresco/web-extension/webscripts/org/alfresco/…

- copy the folder messages to …/tomcat/shared/classes/alfresco/, so that you get this structure:
/tomcat/shared/classes/alfresco/messages/<files>…

- restart tomcat

After that, everything should be fine.
Maybe, you'll modify the files before, as there are some spelling mistakes (use a good texteditor like Ultraedit to search and replace in all files), like "setzten" instead of "setzen".
