Possible ways to invoke .drl's from Activiti

Have read about web service task to invoke .drl rules from with in Activiti. But Web service task rather looks like java service task except rule property in web service. Any body please provide some example here how to invoke .drl rules using web service task and also 'I would like to know any other ways to use .drl in Activit like invoking these rules from standalone java classses.
