faxing and scanning into repository

I have just installed Alfresco. Super. During the 'Alfresco in an hour' webinar I heard someone say that one can send documents directly into the repository e.g. by fax. Presumably that means either by faxing or scanning. I cannot find any mention in the 'Tutorial' - can anyone point me either to the documentation or say how.

I should add that when trying to scan into the repository I get "access denied" even when I set the scanner with user name and password for Alfresco and even though the windows 'machine' can access the folder and even if I leave the machine logged on. I can scan into the shared folder ..no problem … don't really know where to start.

Resolved the issue – but absurdly. Using CapturePerfect 3.0 (I am not sure why I tried it!) everything went swimmingly – only the software with the Canon scanner-'job registration tool' for DR 2580c just does not work with alfresco cifs. Whatever the problem … who cares?

The Fax importing both TIF/PDF and Caller ID, all the information in each Fax need the additional modules. also the scanning directly send to Alfresco Repository need the additional Software as KoFAX, eCopy, Q-Doc
