export _out of_ Alfresco to local filesystem

Is there a way to export a portion of the tree (space plus subspaces) to the local filesystem?
And a way to do this that can be used in a rule?

(FYI enabling CIFS, FTP, etc Alfresco services is not an option for me)

You can go to a space, and export all contents into another space, creating an ACP file (which is a zip).  You can then download the file. 

Additionally, there is an export tool.  Have you seen this page? There is an export tool.

You can also take the exported file, and edit it in case you need to reimport things later in specific ways.

As far as a rule, not out of the box that I know of.  You could create a custom rule that makes call outs to the export functionality.
