How can I pass login credentials to Alfresco?

I want to call the login process with the username/password already provided and hence have automated login (this is to integrate alfresco with an existing system that handles authentication).
Tomcat seems to strip out any POST variables that I pass to the form.
I can't see a way to make use of HTTP authentication.

Anyone have other ideas?

Hi!
I'm trying to do something similar, that is, to login with windows credentials instead of writing your username and password. But I'm not able to do it, did you guess something?

No I haven't.
It's a bit of a catch 22. Management won't pay for an Enterprise service contract until it works correctly, but I think I need some help from Alfresco to get this working and I don't have a service contract.

indesev, what you are trying to do sounds like setting up single-sign on with Windows authentication, is that correct? Have a look at the NTLM documentation, that should do it.

Tomcat handles the POST variables fine, the problems I have seem to be before reaching the Alfresco installation.
