Problems with folder path

alessandrolazar

My content will be send by Webservice, and I'm with some problems to indicate as a folder path any user space different of "app:company_home"

For example:

"/app:company_home/app:user_homes/sys:Alessandro Home/cm:Alessandro Home"

Does anyone know what would be wrong?

Thanks

This is a wrong way to access a space (for example to input a file in Space "Alessandro Home")?

vsuarez

I think your path is "/app:company_home/app:user_homes/cm:alessandro" or similar (replace your name with your username).

morpheus

I think your path is "/app:company_home/app:user_homes/cm:alessandro" or similar (replace your name with your username).

i would also look in the properties of that content, there you will find the correct name (via an Repository Service query, or just through the web client)

Hi All,

Even I'm trying to create space in different user homes and stream files into it.

I m trying to reach the node by following options
/app:company_home/app:user_homes/sys:cynthia/cm:sample_folder
/app:company_home/app:user_homes/cm:cynthia

cynthia—-is the user name and space name of that user in USER HOMES

I looked into the properties of the content to make sure the name is correct.

But its throwing me the exception

Failed to resolve to a single NodeRef with parameters (store=workspacepacesStore uuid=null path=/app:company_home/app:user_homes/cm:cynthia), found 0 nodes.

Could someone please help me.

Thanks

is this a space? app:user_homes, then test with the content model prefix ("cm

I got the same issue.. Creating a "root" parent reference as the user's space is fine, I can put docs into it:

   ParentReference rootHomeParent = new ParentReference(
                                    storeRef,
                              null,
                              "/app:company_home/app:user_homes/sys:"+username,
                               Constants.ASSOC_CONTAINS,
                                  Constants.ASSOC_CONTAINS
);‍‍‍‍‍‍‍

Then, my code creates a subfolder (1 folder per year) to that space, fine too. But the actual file I want to upload never gets there, and I know the error is in that path to the subfolder:

ParentReference yearHomeParent = new ParentReference(
               storeRef,
               null,
               rootHomeParent.getPath() + "/cm:" + theYear,
               Constants.ASSOC_CONTAINS,
               Constants.createQNameString(biModel.NAMESPACE_BI_CONTENT_MODEL, docName)
            );
‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍

I also tried to no luck:

"/app:company_home/app:user_homes/cm:" + theYear‍

If I simply put the user home space instead, as my firs snippet shows, the file gets uploaded.

How do we need to reference the path to the subfolder?

Thank you.

How I see the the correct path by web client? I open the detail of file, but not see the path (only "Location", but it's not the path to query find).

the sequence of spaces you clicked through,
that´s the path to that space you wish (don´t forget the prefixe when addressing an space in the code)

Doesn't work for me I guess.. unless I am really doing something wrong in my code.

Hi,

Other than company_home and other standard folders, all other path name of the folders that are created follows ISO9075 encoding.

import org.alfresco.util.ISO9075;
"/cm:"+ISO9075.encode(foldername)
‍‍‍‍

Cool. But it still doesn't want to upload my file in that child folder.

Is there any sync issue when i execute the CML for the subfolder creation, and the actual CML execution of the document's upload in that subfolder?

Thanks a lot.

morpheus

ok , check with Tcpmon , and post the parts of the message , indicating , which exception has been thrown and the path your are requesting !(all is in that soap message)

chapeaurouge

Good idea.

Ran a tcpdump, and there is an error executing the xpath:

org.alfresco.service.cmr.repository.XPathException: Error executing xpath: \n   xpath: /app:company_home/app:user_homes/sys:apsys/cm:2008
‍‍‍

chapeaurouge

using ISO9075 encode on the year part, I get

java.lang.IllegalStateException: Failed to resolve to a single NodeRef with parameters (store=workspace:SpacesStore uuid=null path=/app:company_home/app:user_homes/sys:apsys/cm:_x0032_008), found 0 nodes.‍

morpheus

the requesting path is wrong , check the prefixes of the spaces, therefore check the type of that "space" and look in the schema declaration

rivetlogic

I remember running into a similar problem with an older Alfresco version where I couldn't access folder names that start with a numeric digit using web services. Try to change your year folder name to Year_2008 and see what happens.

Hope this helps,

OK. Will try when I am back from vacation in September

Thanks for the input.

RivetLogic is correct, you can't use folder names that begin with a number. Or contain spaces and possibly other symbols.

The solution is to ISO9075 encode your space names. Here is a snippet of code as an example of how to do so:

String docPath = "/app:company_home/cm:" + ISO9075.encode("2008 Folder with Spaces In the Name");

ISO9075 methods are the package org.alfresco.util.ISO9075

chapeaurouge

Digit was the issue for me… Can't start with a digit indeed! Thanks.

Hi all,
I'm also having a problem while uploading file in folder path. Please help me out as soon as possible.
i'm using following code>

ParentReference companyHomeParent = new ParentReference(STORE, null, "/app:company_home/cm:" + ISO9075.encode(fileIndex), Constants.ASSOC_CONTAINS, null);

and I got the following exception.

Hi, I have the following problem. I created a user "hallo". The user folder is called "hallowelt". In alfresco Explorer is "hallowelt" in the following folder "Company Home -> My Home -> hallowelt". I want to store a file with this code there.

arentReference companyHomeParent = new ParentReference(STORE, null, "/app:company_home/app:user_home/sys:hallo/cm:hallowelt, Constants.ASSOC_CONTAINS, null);
‍‍‍

But nothing happens. If there is only company_home like this, it works.

arentReference companyHomeParent = new ParentReference(STORE, null, "/app:company_home, Constants.ASSOC_CONTAINS, null);
‍‍‍

Can someone please help me?

yahiko

I think the problem is the path you are passing to ParentReference, have your tried with???:

/app:company_home/cm:my_home/cm:hallowelt‍

My alfresco is only two depth folders (Company Home -> CVS) but i can add content to it as:

folder="/app:company_home/cm:CVS"; ‍

z3r0

Hello,
unfortunately, have your suggestions will not work. And I have even logged in as admin. Another problem is that only the user "admin" can create files.
My new created user "hallo" can not Creating files, nowhere.

What I really want?
I want that my created user "hallo" can to store files in a subfolder of his own (my home) folder.

This work:
Log-in user admin password admin

parentReference companyHomeParent = new ParentReference(STORE, null, "/app:company_home", Constants.ASSOC_CONTAINS, null);
‍‍‍

This don't work
Log-in user admin password admin [folder hallowelt is under Company Home -> My Home -> hallowelt]

parentReference companyHomeParent = new ParentReference(STORE, null, "/app:company_home/cm:hallowelt", Constants.ASSOC_CONTAINS, null);
‍‍‍

Log-in user hallo password welt [the folder hallowelt is the homespace of the user hallo]

parentReference companyHomeParent = new ParentReference(STORE, null, "/app:company_home", Constants.ASSOC_CONTAINS, null);
‍‍‍

parentReference companyHomeParent = new ParentReference(STORE, null, "/app:company_home/cm:hallowelt", Constants.ASSOC_CONTAINS, null);
‍‍‍

Am grateful for every suggestion.

janv

Have you tried:

parentReference companyHomeParent = new ParentReference(STORE, null, "/app:company_home/app:user_homes/cm:hallowelt", Constants.ASSOC_CONTAINS, null);

The default user home spaces are typically under "/app:company_home/app:user_homes". You can also verify by using the Node Browser (login to Alfresco Explorer as admin -> Administration Console -> Node Browser).

Regards,
Jan

Hi z3ro,

I used this n its working. I have my own space Flying_Technologies within CompanyHome. and I'm uploading my files in it.

            ParentReference companyHomeParent = getCompanyHome();

            System.out.println("Association type:::" + companyHomeParent.getAssociationType());
            System.out.println("ChiledName:::" + companyHomeParent.getChildName());
            System.out.println("Path:::::" + companyHomeParent.getPath());
            Reference document = createDocument(createSpace(companyHomeParent, "Flying_Technologies"), fileName, data);
‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍

…

  protected ParentReference getCompanyHome() { //this method i used above and where ever needed to.
        return new ParentReference(STORE, null, "/app:company_home", Constants.ASSOC_CONTAINS, null);
    }

Use the "Node Browser" in the application to look up the node. Click down until it lists it's "name" and "UUID".
Plug them into "Parent Reference". I find this much easier.
