Global Error Messages

ebo

Hey gang, I am trying to set the Alfresco messages at the top of the page to be global only. i.e.

<h:messages globalOnly="true" styleClass="errorMessage"/>

I am generating a heap of messages with Ids and I don't want them displayed in the default alfresco box … you know … that yellow thing.

Thanks in advance.

Has anyone got any ideas?

I am adding some error messages using the faces context like this:

FacesMessage facesMessage = new FacesMessage(FacesMessage.SEVERITY_ERROR, summary, detail);
FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().addMessage(clientId, facesMessage);

But I only want the message to be displayed next to the component using

<h:message for="someId" errorClass="errorMessage" etc …

Have I posted this question in the correct forum?

Ok, no response. I guess Alfresco makes standard JSF difficult to do. For example, now I want to define my own error messages? Easy enough, done this before (http://www.jsf-faq.com/faqs/faces-messages.html#126) … just tried it in Alfresco and it doesn't work! Spent 2 hours looking through doco and can't find any references to this.

Can an Alfresco engineer answer these questions please?!
