Forum Password Reset Function is a Catch 22

Hi !
I didn't find an appropriate place for this issue:

The password reset function of this forum is funny…
After requesting a new password per mail, you'll be linked to a page,
where you have to type in your old (forgotten) password
to generate a new one… any ideas how to get out of this loop?

Or do you mean when you can't even login anymore?
