Session expiration for download servlet

Hi,
i'm facing a problem doing to open sessions in the app server.
When i get the content using ootb servlets
downloadContent
guestDownloadContent

The sessions keep always alive on tomcat until the session-timeout configured in the web.xml reaches the limit.

Is there any way to kill the session when we download the content? like any parameter or other servlet?

i'm getting the content from a separated server through an HttpURLConnection. I want that all the connections made outside a browser to be killed after returning that content

You will need to modify the code to do this at the moment - or set the session timeout value in web.xml to say 1 minute which will kill them very quickly.

ok.

But setting the timeout in the web.xml will kill open sessions from users acessing web ui.

We will leave the timeout of 30 minutes and see how the app server
behaves.

Yes that will be a problem

You'd need to change the servlet code and make it invalidate the web session at the end of the download.
