Activiti Designer 5.9.2 released

trademak

Hi all,

I just released a new version of the Activiti Designer (version 5.9.2).
This includes the following highlights:

- New Activiti navigator view showing process elements in a tree structure. Thanks to Tiese Barrell for this contribution!
- Bug fixes. See JIRA for the closed issues.

Best regards,

There seems to be a problem with the publish server.
I'll keep you posted when the new version can be downloaded.

Hi,

It takes more time to get the website sync back running, therefore I've made the 5.9.2 version archived site available via this link:

Best regards,

Also, Activiti's Tycho builds are proving to be quite portable and reliable.

I had no trouble pulling the code and running mvn clean package - et voila - local update site created. I love it when stuff "just works".

Best regards,

Please fix this problem in 5.9.3 as soon as possible, thanks.

elsarfhem

same problem here. Project explorer is blank after update

trademak

Hi,

I fixed the issue with the project explorer. I'll release a 5.9.3 next week.
If the project explorer is blank, can you confirm that you don't have Activiti projects with .bpmn process diagram files in that workspace?

Thanks,

chris_joelly

Hello Tijs,

Thanks for the fast fix.
i just created an empty workspace with a new web project without Activiti stuff and the Project Explorer does not show the web project. In the Package Explorer the project is visible.

wait 5.9.3, but i found another bug: http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/ACT-1233

Defining this cosmetic issues as Blocker seems somehow exaggerated

and it is already reported in Jira, maybe voting helps to get a fix into the
code base sooner?

There's no 5.9.2 in the Maven repository.
https://maven.alfresco.com/nexus/content/groups/public/org/activiti/activiti-designer-integration/

Not having the new Designer release also in the Maven repository breaks the Designer Extension I develop.
E.g. the workflow execution of my task barfs with

FATAL: One of the attributes 'class', 'delegateExpression', 'type', 'operation', or 'expression' is mandatory on serviceTask. | /scratch/jenkow-plugin/jenkow-plugin/target/test-classes/diagrams/SimpleWfCallsJob.bpmn20.xml | line 30 | column 131

I guess this is because the workflow definition has been written with Designer 5.9.2, but my Designer Extension has been built against 5.9.1.

trademak

Hi,

No that has nothing to do with that. Does this service task have an implementation defined?
It's just an error that your process definition is not correct.

Best regards,

m2spring

You're right. I got the same error when working completely on 5.9.1.

Not clear what I am missing. This is the element:

    <serviceTask id="servicetask1" name="Jenkins Task" activiti:class="org.example.jenkow.JenkinsTaskDelegate">
      <extensionElements>
        <activiti:field name="jobName">
          <activiti:string>launchy</activiti:string>
        </activiti:field>
      </extensionElements>
    </serviceTask>

FATAL: One of the attributes 'class', 'delegateExpression', 'type', 'operation', or 'expression' is mandatory on serviceTask. | /scratch/jenkow-plugin/jenkow-plugin/target/test-classes/diagrams/ExecLogger.bpmn20.xml | line 11 | column 131

I figured out the root cause of my problem:

I'm integrating the Activiti engine into Jenkins as a Jenkins plugin.
When trying to make the workflow engine work when running through surefire-maven-plugin I had a strange behavior from the XML validator. Setting the schema validation to false was a bandaid fix which made the strange behavior go away.

DeploymentBuilder db = repoSvc.createDeployment().addInputStream(wfn,new FileInputStream(wff));
// skip XML Schema validation as documents produced by Activiti designer doesn't seem to conform to them
((DeploymentBuilderImpl)db).getDeployment().setValidatingSchema(false);

Reverting this makes the new problem go away.
So, it was actually my own fault.

When I delete the poll from the diagram，But I still see pool definition code in the BPMN file。

I can not drag a 'event sub process' to canvas directly, but I can drag 'event sub process' into a 'sub process' , and then I can drag 'event sub process' out of 'sub process' I don't kown why?

trademak

@Bill Wang, that are bugs. I just did a commit with fixes for this.
The event sub process can now not be moved to the canvas anymore as it's supposed to be.

Best regards,
