Fresh Install on RHEL5 / Requested resource is not available

Just looking for basic instructions. I ran the GUI installer (AlfrescoCommunity-2.0-Linux-x86-Install) on a fresh RHEL v5 install and it completed without error, then when trying to load the site I receive the following:

HTTP Status 404 - /alfresco/

type Status report

message /alfresco/

description The requested resource (/alfresco/) is not available.
Apache Tomcat/5.5.20
______________________________________________________

I am guessing this "resource" is something major that is needed in addition to the Alfresco install. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Anything in your Tomcat log file?

Well, considering I cannot even locate a tomcat.log file, you may be onto something. There are a ton of errors in the alfresco.log file though.

Ok, I am learning up on Tomcat, it's basic structure, etc… but I'm still not finding why I am getting a "The requested resource (/alfresco/) is not available." when attempting to load the page after a supposed successful install.

Any idea where the tomcat log file might reside since the tomcat install with Alfresco does not seem to be a default install. I mean that the tomcat directory is in the alfresco directory which is in the opt directory….

/opt/alfresco/tomcat/

But no log file.

Alfresco is the product you try to get working, look in alfresco.log for errors.
Tomcat log is called 'catalina.out'

You might try to verify that Tomcat is running by going to http://servername:8080/ This should bring up the default Tomcat web page. If you get that far, the problem is probably not with Tomcat but elsewhere.

We currently have Alfresco 2.0 running on RH 5.0, but did run into difficulties (not just limited to Alfresco) with SELinux. Ultimately it was easier to disable SELinux then to mess with it. But you may want to check the SELinux logs.
